quick question, mates given me his dtuk tuning box from his golf gtd to try before I buy one, he says it’ll work on my vrs 2014 tdi, said it’s same engine it’ll work, but it doesn’t work, just showed up the flashing glow plug light and stop start error message on start up so obviously somethings wrong. Also got codes p0236 and p0238 crop up. I contacted dtuk but obviously don’t want to give much assistance unless I buy a brand new one from them. 

 

So is it programmed wrong for my car? And won’t work?

Does the unit power on? Of so change the settings to something really low then try off/on a couple of times. Not saying it'll work but the unit might be set too high for the Skoda version. I know the mapping is very slightly different between brands.

Yes it powers on, it does actually work now, had the flashy glow plug lights, stop start stop working, but I turned it off wiggled wires and it was OK again?
