Real mpg

Featured Replies

Hi guys new to this group. Am thinking of buying an octavia vrs. I know the diesel will be good on fuel as my stepson had one, but can anyone tell me their fiel economy on the 230 or 245 petrol in normal driving, i.e to work and around town. I do a 22 mile round trip to work so wondered if anyone can tell me their experiences and figures.

Thanks in advance

This may not be a perfect answer but there are no other replies yet. I have a Fabia VRS estate (this is a 180hp petrol 1.4 turbo and supercharged with a seven speed dsg auto box) but I do a 24 mile daily commute in slow traffic and town driving. I'm excluding the higher speed longer journeys I do from my figures.

I'm managing around 32mpg with 'normal' driving. This is neither heavy footed nor driving super carefully. It's just me in the car with minimal weight in the boot.

Hope this helps.

My Vrs245 has averaged 40.55mpg over 25,000 miles so far. Mainly motorway commute (70%) but 14 roundabouts each way. 52 miles per day and usually use Shell V-Power but this tank have used BP Ultimate and after 300 miles have 165 miles left (462 miles is 42mpg).

24mile commute total or a single way? 12miles one way is a bit low for a diesel. And if the petrol 245 can get around 40mpg, it's a no brainer.
