Hi to All

The Fabia has started a slight moaning sound when on full lock either side. It started off very quiet and very occasional and I thought it was a brake pad resting against the disc as the car turned, however, tonight I have noticed the noise is becoming more prominent. It is a kind of low moaning noise.

Thoughts on causes? Dont think it is wheel bearings (I had these checked out at service when the noise was less noticable). Engine mount problem perhaps?

It sounds quite different from the PAS pump. The noise is a low frequency moan as opposed to the motor sound of the PAS pump. Secondly, it seems to only happen when the clutch is up in 1st. If I trigger the noise, then cutch down but keep the engine running at the same speed, the noise stops immediately. Also, trying it a bit more, it happens a little more prominently a quarter turn before full lock.

Lastly, only happens under gentle acceleration and not under engine braking. All points to engine mounting to me. Any known issues?

It occurs at a bit higher speed than that. Around 1300rpm in 1st with clutch fully up.
