Navigation - is it supposed to work this way?

Featured Replies

I’ve just picked up my new Kodiaq Edition and I’m very pleased with it. I’m still working my way through the Manual. One thing that bugs me is that when the navigation screen is not programmed with a destination my car still moves on the screen but the map remains static and my car eventually disappears off the screen. Is it supposed to work that way?  Is there a way to get the map to move with my car in the middle whilst the screen scrolls?  So far the best I can do, if I remember, is to manually change the scale of the map to cover the area I’m travelling.  I haven’t found anything in the Manual that covers this but I might have missed it.

Usually, the map does move and you keep seeing where the car is.

The map locks in place if you’ve manually moved the map, and the button that Wokwon mentions releases it again.

Also the N button above the one indicated also locks North to be always at the top of the screen. When de-selected the map floats and turns as the vehicle turns.

Thanks, I will try that today. I must have missed that in the manual, I will go back and look again. Makes me wonder what else I've missed.
