Dashboard scruff mark

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Not really a Fabia related issue but a general car issue...

On the driver side door down where the bottle holder is there are a few light scruff marks, not sure if they are scratches but I have tried hard to buff them away with some dashboard wipes but they don't dissappear.

Any tips?

Kerbside Autos / Pre-Sales valeting tip.

Shoe polish for some plastics or a crayon to disguise marks / scratches until someone cleans their interior and wipes it off.

If I get black shoe polish, will it show up as the plastic isn't black but more like dark grey.

Sorry i thought it obvious enough that you can only use shoe polishes that match the plastic, black for black, different browns like cherry or tan etc etc.

If no greyish polish then you get the kiddies crayons set and see if there is a match.

On Black i would use Back to Black just because i have that.  On some plastics the Colour Polishes do the job but again only if you have the right colour.

Its only a trial wiping on on a finger tip.

As pointed out its a Kerb Side Auto thing, just to make something appear OK.

Yes I'm quite annoyed as the car is only 4 months old.

Why do they make bottle holders if the plastic around it is just gonna scratch everything you put a bottle there.

Try keeping car-park change in them, the dimples disappear very quickly!

You could use one of those bags they include with new shoes to put the bottle in.
