fabia strut brace

Featured Replies

How easy a DIY job is it to fit the front strut brace? what does it involve? Is there any 'How To Do' guides?

A sample of urine.

3 Bolts on both suspension points under the bonnet. Passenger side is mega easy, the drivers side you'll have to remove the black box thats above the bolts which is a 2 minute job. 15 minute job MAX.

Lots of information available here on the site, I've extracted a few points of interest from different posts regarding the fitment, previous experiences, and cautions. If you have the right tools for the job, then it should be easy, if you don't then it could be quite expensive and time consuming  This mod is well worth doing in my opinion, it weights the steering up and makes it more precise. Good Luck!

I seem to have a problem...HELP! I thought i would give my air filter a clean today so off i went undoing the bolts that hold the strut brace down so i could get into the air box. However, both of the bolts just spin round and dont actually undo. They dont spin round easily, in fact they are quite stiff and are definately not going anywhere. So i think they have managed to sheer themselves Question is, what do i do next? Is my car safe to drive? Should i take it do a dealer and ask them to sort it or should i take it to a general garage? Or maybe even try and rectify it myself? Any help welcome...
Another small update, today i got the new strut top plus the bolts (
