Window tints or Blinds ?????

Featured Replies

As above window tints or blinds whats the best  ???

Personal choice

Blinds are quite cheap used and new. The rear one comes in 2 parts which some won’t like the join line in the centre. I never fitted my hatch one just the 2 rear doors. With the parcel shelf stuff still seems hidden in the back

You can sell once you no longer own the car.

Children find it hard to see out of them properly.

With windows open protects them from sun and bugs.

Tints vary the darkness as desired.

View from inside good for occupants.

Can be damaged and marked by kids or contents

Don't forget to check how much the insurance will go up as well. Tints can be a pain in winter when it gets dark early IMO.

I had this decision too.

I went for tinted as it keep it cooler in summer and keep anything I put on back seat hidden, I opted for factory tinted glass and you can't tell the difference.

id personally recommend these guys/girls. called screengenies who I've used before and recommend and there work was faultless no issues and detail ensuring it done correctly.

how much would i be paying for blinds and where is the best place to get them.Im sure with the blinds i wouldnt have to declare this on my insurance as they are removable easily.

I did have tints on my Audi avant but when its dark it is hard to see easily out of the back window.

Try eBay or vanstyle

I have tints on the Octavia and blinds on the fabia.

No real difference apart from the thick line down the centre of the blinds, and having to be more careful not to scratch the tints.

I'd highly suggest NOT going for cheap tint. If you're going to do it, do it right and take it to a decent tint company that uses 3M or something that is as good, not your cheapos. The good thing about high quality tint is that it will keep heat out of the cabin as well as UV rays, unlike blinds.

Yes, it will be more difficult to see out of it in the winter, but it will look much better than blinds and do a whole lot more. Can't comment on a place around the UK, but ask around because personally I think its one of the best 'upgrades' you can do to a car.

Cheers

Just received these, initially thought there was no way they would fit our Octavia but they do perfectly. I washed them on a 30 wash before putting them on the car so try to stop any colour run if left on in the rain. For fitting, when you get them out look at each end one is straight and one has a slight slope so fit to the straight and sloping sides of the window respectively. It feels like it would never fit but it does! The car is so much cooler, but as mentioned before when you look into your blind spot you cannot see a thing! We do have slightly tinted windows already so this mightn’t help. So you need to be aware of the road around you. I didn’t put down as a negative as you can’t have it both ways coverage on the windows and be able to see! I gave 4 stars for durability as I’d imagine it will start to get holes in it as the material is soft. It’s harsh really as it has to be soft to stretch around the window so unavoidable really. Really recommend them

These seem pretty good and sounds like they fit well.

I guess you have a Chromebook!!

Please repost the correct link as I am interested.
