Online chat for Skoda Connect issues on Kodiaq?

Featured Replies

To drive the car is wonderful, the Skoda Connect service is frustrating though as I spend weeks at a time unable to access.

I first found this website looking for solutions, and what I've picked up is:

* it seems a number of people have issues with this since around 2017

* deleting various profiles and re-registering the car works sometimes but no always

* having tried to follow some of the suggested solutions here I reach a point where either the suggested menu option is absent on my system or the solution step is too technical for me to follow.

My local garage is an hour's drive away so taking the car there is a half a day commitment, then they make changes that solve the problem but not permanently and leave me no wiser.

What I am wondering then is if Skoda might have a chat system where an expert might talk me through setting it up, whilst I juggle mobile and tablet to make the necessary connections. The alternative for me is simply to not renew the subscription (as others have), and that isn't in the interests of the people running the Skoda Connect service.

Welcome to Briskoda B)

All of the concerns and issues you mention above are prevalent.

Unfortunately there is a systemic flaw with Skoda Connect - it is underdeveloped and rarely works properly.

The few benefits to be had from the system fall well short of justifying the subscription costs. It'd be bad enough if it was free, but to attempt to charge customers for a substandard service is a different level.

Ignore it, forget about it and definitely do not renew.

Download Android Auto or Apple Car Play and use your smartphone for news and weather, Waze for up to date traffic information and route calculation, use the infotainment system to monitor service intervals and remember to lock your car in person rather than online. That way you won't miss it.

If you are determined to persist, the only Live Chat function I am aware of is the regular Skoda UK customer services team, which in my experience know very little about the technical aspects of their vehicles, let alone the intricacies of cloud based systems...

Watching with interest as I still need to get mine sorted.

OK, thanks for that guys

  • 5 months later...

I’ve been struggling with this for months.  My dealer hasn’t got a clue (one of their ‘technicians’ actually said that to me). However after several calls to my phone service provider, Talkmobile, it turns out that their service does not allow the phones data to be used by another device. Even though the phone shows that the hotspot is active and the car shows a hotspot connection the data can’t be transmitted.
Solution: new sim from another provider. Vodafone only wanted to sell me expensive packages whilst Plusnet couldn’t have been more helpful. New SIM on its way.

Don't get too excited, those of use with separate data-SIM cards fitted in the dedicated SIM card slot in the glovebox still suffer connection issues.

Even with a reliable connection, the system itself is flawed and is best described as unreliable.
