Fault

Featured Replies

HI, Ive recently bought a used roomster, 2008, 1.2, 127000 miles.

There seems to be an intermittent fault around 3000 rpm when the car seems to "cough" and briefly lose power, it works ok if you drop a gear and rev over 3500 and then all seems fine, this use to happen after about an hour of driving but seems to be more frequent recently.

It has had a full service, fuel filter changed and all brakes done, actually in garage at the moment having the abs sensors replaced.

There are no warning lights on so the garage isn't sure whats wrong.

Any help would be much appreciated,

I got an 08 1.6 petrol and get a lityle hesitation at 3k rpm but nothing like what yours sounds like

You could try some injector cleaner. :nerd:

Its actually sorted now, whilst the garage were doing the abs sensor, light was on, they found that the front wheel bearings had gone, actually said "they had almost come out", seems like a completely different car now, less revs to get it going and it cruises now.

If I was you id get your wheel bearings checked, apparently they it gets worse ( more noticeable) the faster you drive, I looked online on Friday and found 3 sites that all said it would be the abs ( as this is also used for traction control) and the tyres.

Im just glad it is sorted now, I love the car and it now drives like a dream.
