DPF sensor fixed by local indy garage, but...

Featured Replies

hey all,

Recently the EGR valve on my Skoda Superb 2010 2.0l tdi failed, and after comparing two quotes from garages I asked the garage around the corner my car to fix it. After the installation of the new EGR the garage advised me the DPF sensor was giving faulty readings, but advised me they had cleared the memory and that I should come back to have it replaced if they engine light would come up again.  And it did...So I took it back to the garage yesterday. Upon collecting the car the garage advised they had replaced the DPF sensor, and another sensor (without specificing which one)

Upon reviewing the work in the engine compartment afterwards from above, I do indeed see a new DPF sensor, but I also see something I did not expect to see.  The pipe between the sensor and exhaust had been cut.  I have also searched for the second sensor that was replaced, but I have failed to find that one as I dont know where to look....I can assume it is a sensor that take measurement from the exhaust.  Could anyone tell me where this sensor is located?

Sorry for the late response, you were right about that...I did look at the wrong diagram.

It is a month later now, and the engine responses much better after the repairs compared to before repairs.  I was also afraid that the DPF was clogged up, after having driven about 500 miles with the EGR engine light one, but luckily this wasnt the case...In the end I am pleased with the results.
