Water in tyre well estate (no sunroof)

Featured Replies

Good afternoon all.

I'm having issues with water filling the spare tyre space on my 2011 elegance estate. I have looked through other threads but it seems they have sunroofs and mine doesn’t, so I’m a bit stuck.

As you can see from the pictures attached (sorry for the mess, I think it’s was a bit of a workhorse prior to my ownership) it looks like the water is coming in from the right. In the other pic you can see the rear light cluster and that seems to have the little plastic bits that cover the screws missing, could this be the answer?

Ive had the rear trim off and can’t see where it could be coming in.

Im at the point where I might drill a few holes in the tyre well to let it drain, as it makes he car musty, but before I do that I was wondering if I had missed something?

Any help appreciated

Probably coming in through/around the cabin vents behind the rear bumper.
