I noticed that some Audi and VWs with electric seats are automatically retracting when parked and ignition is switched off. 
 

Is this a coding feature or something in the infotainment menu?

It can be coded to do easy entry....

 

The Carista dongle allows this - but - if you have someone behind the driver they can get squashed if not expecting it (legs) - especially on Karoq.

 

I did the wife's car and she was complaning to me Saturday about squashing her when she was sat in back next to granddaughter..

I had it on my Superb II, I guess it goes for a Kodiaq too:

As far as I know, this activates Easy Entry permanently. To control it via menu, I switched byte 9 bit 6 in the same module.

The car did accept the coding (both) but nothing happened, no movement in the seat nor anything in the menus. Where did I go wrong?

You have memory seats?

Also I remember when I received my car, the salesman fiddled something in the meny to assign the seat to the key.

 

Worked on my Superb II.

Yes I do have memory seats, however the key/seat feature is deactivated.

There should be (now) "Seats" menu in car setup, check option there.

This was already all active. 
 

I got easy entry in the menus but no movement in the seat. I give up 😛 

I think you need to activate the key / seat feature - otherwise it does not know where to move to...

 

Which above you said was not active.... I suggest you start there..

Just tested.

Seats option appears in car menu and Easy Entry box ticking enables the function.

Random question - does any of this ‘coding’ interfere with warranty? 
 

id be paranoid about re-coding parts of the car and it causing some other damage and Skoda wriggling out of coughing up for warranty work.

All these codings are actually official features of VAG. You are just enableing them. 

Never heard anybody had warranty problems due to VCDS tweaks.

Brand new Kodiak L&K.

Noticed thet easy entry seems to work fine.... however when I leave the vehicule and try to lock it via the small indent on the door handle... does not work most of the time.

It's been raining for a while here where I live, perhaps it has something to do with it?

Or should I just keep trying and if no success take it back to the dealership...

You need to completely remove your hand from the handle and just touch indent from outside - yesterday - I tried locking mine with my hand still in the handle (not touching) and it would not lock..

Thanks for the reply. Actually when I lock the doors. (Or try to...) Hand is not in the handle anymore. Have tried to lock from passenger side and same issue...

 

indent is perhaps not sensitive enough.

Hi, menu appears under the seat screen for both the driver's seat and the passenger seat, but only the driver's seat works.  Is there another coding for the passenger seat?

Works for drivers seat only. Why would the passanger need an easy entry without having a steering wheel?
