In a brisk accelerate up a long hill, a Pug 205 (as mentioned) was right behind me right up to the top (about 500 yards) It was a 'G' reg and it really suprised me. Bear in mind that my Fabia has an AmD remap !! Maybe my car is not run in yet (5k) but he was pretty quick. Or i'm a poo driver.

Do you know what Dave, that's something that I didn't even consider. The same thing happened with a Citroen C2 VTS in the same place. I suppose things would be different on the flat then ?

On the flat, 1.9 pugs, standard ones, are no problem at all.

I had (until the start of the year a 1990 pug 1.9gti...lowered, coilovers, neg camber roller topmounts, uprated f&r rollbars, reworked head and injection system, twinbore throttle system, 2 1/2" custom s/steel group A downpipes and exhaust)..a real 'beast' till the engine lunched a big end :(

Just had the oppertunity to drive the new 'beast' on the A525 Newcastle to Whitchurch road........got to say I think the vRS is quicker than my old pug...all that torque makes swift motoring on twisty A roads easy
