Removing battery housing to get to PAS fluid tank

Featured Replies

A simple job that isn't that cheap. I've taken the battery out, as well as the bolt at the bottom of the plastic casing. The plastic box isn't coming out, and the only remaining bolt I can see is at the back of the case attaching it to another part.

Is this everything I need to get the housing out? I really need to check the fluid ASAP, as soon as I get one step further with it I need yet more tools as I haven't got what I need

You really do need a basic mechanics toolkit to be able to do this stuff. Remove the remaining bolt.

On the VRS...

One bolt connecting to the air box

Two bolts behind the box holding the rear down to the metalwork.

Thanks for that... One last thing, how do I get the big square "body" of the box off. I've just been trying, and I cannot figure it out. (Probably doesn't help I'm ****ed off with it all.)

One or two plastic clips on each vertical side, I think, from memory. You have to pull them outward at the bottom, which needs some sort of 'hooky-tooly-thing', unless you have strong fingernails.

Thanks will have to try again tommorow and hope it comes off

I seem to remember using a screwdriver ( but gently) . Then there's the inner cover and finally the 13mm( ??) bolt on the battery retaining clip. Best undone with a long extension.
