Columbus Auto day/night brightness

Featured Replies

Whilst I've had the car for nearly 2 years I generally used to manually flip between night and day brightness through the headunit - its simple enough as its 2 button clicks.  However I've now set it to Auto.  Coming home yesterday in the light the screen was bright as it should be, however this morning the screen was still bright even though it was 6am and pitch black.  Should it not have auto changed to night (Black/grey)?

Thanks

Not sure if the Columbus is the same as my Amundsen where it seems to change with the auto lights going on and off.

All 3 of my radios have been very intuitive with the auto day/night setting. Some people don’t find this is the case though.

I use auto for my Columbus and it changes with the headlights coming on (also set to auto). Are your headlights set to auto or were they off, or possibly manually set to on? Works a treat for me, no complaints at all.

so with lights set to Auto & screen, sunday afternoon, it rained on way home, lights came on screen went dark.  What i did find is that as it got a bit brighter, lights were on but screen went light - i guessed at this point that there maybe a light sensor o the HU or internal within cabin.

This morning, 6am, pitch black, everything on Auto, screen was ligh (daylight colour).  Turned lights from auto to on and screen stayed the same, daylight colour.  In the end i manually set screen to night.
