Spare wheel toolkit

Featured Replies

Hi

First post here - apologies if this question has been covered before or even done to death.

Just bought a 2017 Superb SE L, which has no spare wheel, just the repair kit.

I've managed to find a spare wheel locally for a good price, but need the jack/wheelbrace etc.

Several Octavia ones on Ebay, but none specifically for Superb at the moment. Will an Octavia one do, or is the jack specific to the Superb in some way?

thanks

John

In my last Superb (66) I had a spare and tool kit that came out of an Octavia.  The jack was a scissor type rather than one that had a protruding arm, sorry don't know what the technical name is.  I ve seen on a thread somewhere that you should have the scissor type as they are more robust for the heavier Superb.  Never needed to use it but always felt that it would have been sufficient.  I have bought a space saver and tool kit for my current S3 (16) and the kit part including the jack seems to be identical to what I got out of an Octavia.  There doesn't seem to be anything "Superb" about it, just a standard scissor jack.  One thing to remember whatever you go with is that these jacks are for changing wheels only, not for lying under a car supported only by the jack.

These are pretty good …  £12 and a decent enough Jack if a 1 ton rating is enough for a Superb. Remember 3 wheels should be on the ground so its not taking the weight.
