Would anyone know if a DTUK tuning box from a 184ps VRS diesel would work on a 2010 170ps VRS diesel?

Im just keeping an eye on used ebay ones as a cheaper alternative.

I doubt it.

 

The 184ps is only fitted the the MK3 which uses a EA288 engine where as your 2010 170ps is a EA189 engine...

 

I'd also suggest you use a decent tuner rather than just adding a tuning box :)

Thanks for your response. Thought I can have a cheap and small improvement in performance. As decent tuning is expensive, I’ll be better off using the money towards maintenance.

I wouldn't really risk it. Tuning boxes (even when on the correct model) are pretty rubbish. I'd save up the money to get a custom tune done, more power and healthier engine opposed to a tune box.
