DSG problem years?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

...thinking of changing my current car, (Yeti 1.4 LK), as I really don't need 4WD any more. Can't decide what to replace it with but quite fancy a "later" high spec 1.2. Also always fancied a dsg but put off by all the problems reported. I am ware that there have been a couple of dsg variants, just wondering if the "later" ones are generally OK before I started looking?

Many thanks for any input...

Simples, DQ200's,

2009-2012 involved in a World Wide Recall, in Europe a Service campaign from 2014, '34H5'.

2013-2015 a Service Campaign started in 2017 for some '34H5', software update as apreventitive measure.

2014/15 on Slipping Clutch pack possible issues, Uprated Clutches and Software Update, there are TPIs.

Mostly they are all good, but these are the dates that mater.

..brill, very comprehensive.

Many thanks for posting this info, my current Yeti is a late 2015 so I would be looking at something post 2016, (ideally 2017 if they were still making them then!)

2015 is OK, as are 2016 / 2017.

You just need to check with a 2014/15 that a Service Campaign action was carried out if due,

and from 2015 has there been any Warranty work due to Slipping Clutch Packs that might just be a software update or more involved or nothings as never any issues.

Issues are not common, but can be expensive if not covered by a warranty.

My car was built late April 2017. Production stopped a couple of weeks later to change the line for the new car.

You will find some 67 reg around as not sold when built to fill line capacity. I think I saw an 18 reg once!

Indeed last month I saw a 57 reg yeti. I wonder if that was a preproduction test car or just a personal plate.
