so been getting these codes along with severe fuel cuts when pulling out at junctions mainly! pull off and  revs die like ive turned the key off then comes back instantly.doesnt even do it on every journey./ no eml no limp, doesnt even always throw those codes. changed the fuel sender, fuel filter, checked the camfollower / lobe for wear and just has a bit of the black hardening off (new one on order anyway), was thinking the fuel pressure sensor on the hpfp next, but anyone have any ideas before i waste more £? have vcds

any ideas much appreciated lads

Had exact same symptoms albeit with different codes. Mine were for fuel pressure regulator, then an injector went pop. White smoke out the exhaust, cylinders 4 flooding fuel into the exhaust and obviously not firing.

Cost 300 to get a new injector fitted.

Hope this helps.

cheers for the reply. what codes were you getting? i dont think it would be injector issue as im not getting misfires, never know though see what others think! at least i can swap parts out myself cant afford garages!

I had a similar problem a few  weeks back. I'm hoping a new crank sensor will solve it

yep i have crank position sensor, fuel rail pressure sensor and the one on the side of the hpfp in mind to change. has your problem stopped or just intermittent?

Haven't got round to it yet.

Got to replace broken spring before it  will get driven

P2293 I wasnt getting any misfires either. Sometimes I'd get a hard start and after changing fuel sender and filter I started getting stalls after being in traffic.

I've been working on the car since I bought it, but when I saw you had to remove the manifold etc I was already tired of  having the fault haha.

it all started when my car was down to 5 miles so i was originally thinking a blockage somewhere from sucking dirt up, just have to keep replacing bits

Solution was the crank position sensor.

Fantastic.

Still not got around to changing mine, or replacing the broken spring.

Got around £400 of parts sat on the boot waiting to be fitted.....
