Carplay headunits for '13 plate Yeti

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a nice mark 1 13 plate Yeti and I'm hoping to replace the bog-standard headunit (which I currently augment with cheap bluetooth receiver>aux-input) with something that supports Apple Carplay.

Does anyone have experience with the Sony XAV-AX1005DB or Sony XAV-AX1000 listed on Halfords and Amazon? They look OK and aren't over the top in terms of cost (~£250).

Will these fit? Is the job relatively easy to do? Are there better alternatives? Am I bonkers?

Any advice greatly appreciated

D

Personally, a Bolero from a later Yeti would be the obvious choice. It'll look completely standard, integrate properly and give you bluetooth, carplay and android auto if you pick the correct one.

The only negatives are having component protection removed and that it might be over £250. Not sure how much @pab567 charges for Bolero's but certainly worth asking.
