Does anyone know if a VW Polo/Golf gear **** would fit on the gearstick of my Fabia?

The engine in my car is a 1.4 8v so I assume that one from a 1.4 16v might fit?

I know that the Beetle one fits to 6 speed diesel one... maybe the same is true for the 1.4 ?
