I’m going to test drive a 272 Sportline Plus in the next week as a potential replacement for my Octavia RS estate. 
 

I was wondering if there is anything I should be on the lookout for other than the usual things?

Is this true ?  If so that's one hell of a quality control issue.  And as someone is planning to buy a used Superb in the next 6 months, slightly worrying.

VW, Audi and a few other manufacturers seem to have this problem as well, there’s loads of cars like that around just now

Yeah I went to my local dealers and they refused to admit to existence of the TPI. I think I was the first person in the UK to be effected. I’ll just live with it 

Just as well those have lights as they are totally invisible in fog, mist and spray otherwise.

TPI also known as The Paint Inspection. Avoid roads with corners and roundabouts as the 272 tends to lean over like a small yacht in a choppy swell.

Try a Tesla model 3. They really do leave the factory with minimal paint. You'll be fine with a Skoda lol.

At least they put clear coat on top of the primer!

Well, I went and did the test drive and after some earnest haggling, stuck a deal on a 2019 Sportline Plus hatch 272 with Canton sounds, spare wheel kit and tow bar (!). Sadly, it is one which they forgot to put the colour coat on but did clear coat!

 

Collected it on Thursday and am loving the upgrade from my trusty Octavia vRS. 
 

It is a little softer and smoother to drive but the extra toys, refinement and additional speed make up for this. Think I’m going to enjoy the ride.
