Fitting ERF car seat in Superb iii

Featured Replies

My car seat has tethers that normally attach to the front seat rails. See pic from my old Mégane. I now need to install it in my new Superb. Problem is the rails are relatively far forward and hardly visible when the seat is in its normal position - see pic. I think i can get the straps under the rails by loosening the M10 star screws, but I'm concerned that could adversely affect the electric seat sliding mechanism.

As an alternative, i can thread the tethers thru the seat itself (between back and seat), but that would mean i couldn't adjust the seat back or forward without first unclipping the tethers from the car seat. Doable, but a right PITA!

Anyone on here had a similar dilemma? Any suggestions i haven't thought of?

I believe you can get a steel plate with an attached hinged "D" ring that fits under the seat rail and held in place by the seat rail screw  passing through a hole in the plate.  Something like this:

I hadn't thought of these, but i don't think they will help that much in that the front seat will still only go back to the point where it touches the straps. In my driving position, the front seat overlaps the end of the rail by a long way. If only the rails on the Superb were a bit longer!
