Bluevision. Blue or White?

Featured Replies

Now im thinking of getting Bluevisions, or their Osram equivalent.

I know they look blue when off (I have the sidelights) and I'm glad they are white not blue when on.

Are the blue main lights also "whitey-whitey-blueish" when on or mostly "blueish"?

Also, are the +50% bulbs whiter than standard, or just brighter and still yellow?

Jono

Blue visions are very white with a tint of blue inside the headlight and around the edges of the beam. Vey bright compared with standard.

I've only got experience of the blue vision sidelights, which although blue to the eye when off, they're deffo very bright UNblue when lit up. As for dipped beam, the vision plus bulbs I invested in are proving really good because as well as lighting the floor in front of the car, it also reflects up on signs and stuff without blinding drivers. An excellent choice in bulb.

As for main beam, I was going to be sent some Rallye bulbs that a most distinguished member was going to get rid of, but I've not seen anything, and TBH I'm fairly happy with the standard main beam bulbs. They're fine for me and light far enough in front of me to keep me safe in the narra' lanes down here.

as said previously blue vision are very white and far better than the OE lamps.

Jason what is UNblue and are you drunk? :D

I recently fitted Osram SilverStars for main and dipped beam, the light's pretty white rather than yellow, main beam much improved, dipped beam slightly improved. :)

IIRC I read something fairly "official" that suggested yellow was better than white in poor visibility, as yellow light penetrates better through fog, rain etc, whereas blue was not so good ......

I'm just about to upgrade my main unit to the Osram Silverstars. I have heard nothing but good reports about them when compared with all white/yellow/blue bulbs.

I seem to recall an Auto Express test with several manufacturers standard bulbs failing even the most basic tests, but the Osrams can top of them all!!!
