Fabia DSG slight pullback feeling in D7 (auto)

Featured Replies

Hi This is my 3rd Skoda Fabia 1.0 TSI SE 110 bhp DSG, and I have gone for an Automatic. I absolutely love the feel of it and the handling.  My only concern is that when I am cruising on Motorway and Gear is in D7, there is a slight sensation of pull back,  very very slight and I'm not sure if this is an issue or if it is the road contour or just me !  So it almost feels like when it will change up or down gear, the kind of pullback feeling just before that happens. But it isn't changing gear, just cruising in D7.  Is this a normal sensation in an Automatic, or is it in my head 🤕

Well no one has answered because probably like me they don't know what you mean by 'pullback'. My 2016 1.2 TSi DSG MC is absolutely fine cruising in seventh gear. The change from 6th to 7th is virtually imperceptible unless I am accelerating hard using sports mode.

It might be this...

That's one heck of a diagnostic journey and it's no wonder VAG have neither diagnosed nor resolved the issue.

Ive felt this in Wifes MK3 seems to slip sometimes, not enough for me to worry really (the Turbo lag when you want to put foot down is more annoying when in D) - thinking of basic map on the car to take it from 110 to 125ish.

You will not get rid of the lag with a map.

If you are crousing and there is no need for boost, you stiil need to wait to spool up the turbo when wastegate closes on demand for more power...

If the wife's Mk3 is a DSG model, you can 'wake up' the performance by flicking into S mode. Frankly, I'd considered a remap for my MC, but I'd be worried about adding more power through that DSG.

I have a tune both on the DSG and engine for the last 45kkm, no problems so far...
