Has anyone any clues as to what has happened to my screen on the dashboard and infotainment?

I think that line of random characters is where your phone's network provider should be displayed.

Presumably you do actually have a "Moto G" phone connected to the car?

Yes I have that phone, the same display has been for about 2 weeks now

Reboot the head unit. Press and hold power on/off until the Škoda splash screen appears.

Just tried a reboot but still the same 😬

Have you done any phone updates recently?

Unpair and repair your phone?

Lol!

The nuances of the English language.

I was tempted to correct repair to re-pair but would have thought that replace with an Android phone would be a better choice. ;)

Well just tried delete and pairing the phone again but still the same message, I cannot recall an update on my phone and there certainly is not one outstanding. I guess its just one of those gremlins that will miraculously  sort itself out hopefully. Thanks everyone  for the input

Could it be that the Bluetooth name for the phone has been corrupted?

Looks is like a software update by Motorola has caused it, wife's phone on same network displays correctly. Mystery solved
