Bolt identifications for rear brake pad/caliper carrier

Featured Replies

Trying to identify the bolt holding the rear brake carrier. Looks like a 12 sided Torx but would like confirmation. (why do they make it so difficult to do this job?) Any help appreciated as halfway through the job and patience wearing thin.

Its not a torx, but youve probably worked that out by now.

M14( possibly) spline bit.

Are you putting new calliper bolts on? The torquing technique implies strectch bolts?

I gave up at that point of my research. Will send it to a non skoda garage.

90% worn pads and scored discs 😞 has done 56000m though.

Thanks spot on! 14mm spline(never heard of it before) Got a set at Machine Mart 12-18 for £22. Wasn't intending to replace the bolts , will see how they come off first.

The bolts will go again ;)
