judder at idle?

Featured Replies

whats this funny judder that shakes the whole car at idle its noramlly after a 40min run or 1st thing when its started up...it doesnt seem normall:confused: its always done it but its got more noticable

Mine does this at start up, shakes like an old dog for 2/3 seconds then smoothes out nicely.

It's been serviced recently and it wasn't flagged up as a problem ...

i dont think its a big problem just want to know what is the daft thing to do it..hmmm :)

Do the revs rise or drop when it judders or is it at constant tickover?

the revs used to drop on my old 1.4, but this one just judders at constant idle, like if you were to stop at lights for a while or you just got home and you parked up, etc...

Mine does this too (PD100), after I've been driving for around 30mins and I stop at some lights after a few miles without stopping, the engine does judder, you can feel it through the car like you can on an old bus only not as strong, the revs stay the same, the car will be in neutral with the handbrake on.

It doesn't seem to affect performance once moving again.

Mine does this on occasions and the revs drop slightly - when idling this is.

is this just something that all engines have? or is there a proper reason? backfire? hmmm:confused:

I have a little idle judder. :D

If I blip the throttle while in neutral and stopped, the car rocks from side to side.
