Sleeping in Mk III Estate

Featured Replies

Will need to survive a very short night squeezed between an evening away game and an early morning flight in my Mk III Estate. Any clever tricks to make it more comfortable is welcome please :)

Have you got the vario boot floor? If not, you'll want something to fill the step between the boot and seats when you lower the rear seats.

That's if you'll be sleeping in the back, the seats might be a bit uncomfortable.

Crack a window open or else you'll have a load of condensation, and then sleeping bag, duvet, camping mat etc.

Thank you Paul - no vario boot floor so found a stack of unused folded cardboard boxes in the garage for leveling and inflated our guest air bed. Will take my pillow and a couple of blanket with me - I feel much better prepared now :)

So you are saying that all the money I spent on the "genuine Tim Peake astronaut suit, one careful owner" on Ebay was wasted? And that I could have driven with the window open an inch and not had to worry about explosive decompression? This weekend just keeps getting worse...

To the OP, the Rest function might come in handy if the car is warm. It will re-circulate the warm air for 30 minutes after you switch off the engine.

Yet another simply clever function! Had to look it up in the owner's manual as I did not notice this knob really yet 😮 After 200 miles on the motorway will definitely try it!
