Change variable to fixed

Featured Replies

My Fabia is coming up to one year old and I've noticed it's set to variable service and I want fixed.

Can I do this myself or does it have to be done by the dealer?

It needs to be done at the dealership.

When you put it in to get serviced early just ask that it gets changed to Fixed Servicing.

No need for a dealer. If you reset service schedule by pressing 0.00 button it will change to fixed itself.

Will it then default to 10,000 miles per annum?

Correct.

That is great if you can just do that.

Does it not go to 9,600 miles / 372 days?

Hope it's ok to reply to this thread rather than create a new one as I have a similar question about servicing.

My Fabia will be 4 years old in Spetember and is on variable servicing (Q16).  I only do about 7k per year, I had it serviced in 2018 and the brake fluid changed last year.  When I had the brake fluid changed the garage advised me to wait till this year and have it changed to fixed.

My manual states that changes to the Q16 change to fixed servicing can only be done by a specialist garage.  Does this mean I have to take it to a Skoda dealer or can I do what was suggested above to make it fixed at 10k and take it to my normal garage I have my older Skoda serviced at?  If I can change it to fixed does that 10k start from the moment you change it and can I have it serviced now?

Thanks.

For my wife's 2016 Fabia 3, see attached file which shows how to reset the service indicator and, I believe, changes it to fixed service.
