Interior lights out

Featured Replies

Hi, I had a problem with the boot lights staying on, on a dark and wet night. I tried to sort it, removed n/side light fitting, but wasn't successful. Later found something was stopping the boot lid from closing but couldn't see it earlier in the dark. Went to replace the light fitting and in the process the lights went out and all the interior lights also ceased to work and the hazard lights repeater stopped working. I have checked all the fuses in the fuse box next to the battery and all look to be in working order. Does anyone have any further clues to sort my problem? Thanks.

They’ll be fed from the fuse box behind the cover at the side of the dash, I think it’s drivers side but not 100% the owners manual will have locations of the fuse boxes and fuse designation.

Thanks mate, I looked in the owners manual and I understood it to have said that it is either a fuse box under the dash or a fuse box next to the battery under the bonnet. Are you saying there will be another fuse box behind the felt cover under the dash?

It’s on the side of the dash :)

Ahh! great, thanks very much Vrsburnzy, I didn't realise it was at the side like that. Will have a look after my dinner.

That video is not for your car. The small aux fuses are under the cover on the drivers side at the end if the dash.

Open the driver's door and put the key or a screwdriver in the slot at the edge of the cover and prise the cover off. Note the fuse locations are a mirror image of those shown in the driver's handbook. There is also a label of fuse location on the cover but you have to look at it as though it was a mirror reflecting the actual fuse panel.

You can download a copy of your manual from the pinned post further up the page.

Oh, great!! Thanks for that vrs09. My lights all went out when I was replacing the boot light fitting that I had taken out earlier. I never did get the bulb out of the fitting, any hints on how to manage it? Thanks again for your help.

Don't actually need a new bulb. Bought a replacement 5A fuse and everything is now working fine. Thanks everybody for your help. It's good to know you're all out there when I need you. Thanks again.

Now! can anyone help with a 1978 BMW R100RS motorcycle??
