New to Skoda brand

Featured Replies

Hello, my 40th car and my first Skoda, is it a mistake, time will tell. My car, a Karoq MY20 1.5 TSI, DSG, moon white with park assist, 4th year warranty and a spare tyre.

I'm  6 years retired from engineering, also drive a 520d auto BMW, which is my 9th BMW so I'm  a big fan. Parted with an outlander PHEV which was faultless, for the Karoq.

Delivery for me was 12 weeks total and the dealer was / is shockingly bad. Maybe more on this later. I have had the car 2 weeks.

Hello Widescreen 👋

What was the Outlander like?  Faultless, certainly, but they seem to get a quite mixed bag of reviews.

Hi, I had the outlander for 44 months and it cost me 1 set of wiperblades in that time but only 17,000 miles on the clock. It never missed a beat. It cost about £1.30 for a full battery charge and in the early years did around 28 to 30 miles per charge in summer but 23 to 24 in the colder months. However the software over time reduces the allowable charge to protect the battery life, so you get less miles per charge, just about noticeable at 3 years. However with the short journeys I was doing I woulld only put around 5 gallons of petrol in every 3 months and charge the car 5 times a week. A very cheap way to motor and it is a big car. So its not great if you do a lot of longer trips, great on shorter journeys. Super quiet, very clever technical car. On longer journeys say 150 miles with combined electric power and petrol I often recorded 45 / 46 overall. Finally there are ways of resetting the software back to full charge, quite simple but a dealer wont do it.

A warm welcome to the Forum !

Many thanks for the welcome. I've  just returned from a 650 mile round trip to Glasgow. Did I take a 2 week old, untried Karoq, certainly not.

I have a couple of small issues with the car and will be posting on these shortly.

Cheers
