2.0 FSI coil packs

Featured Replies

Do any of you good fellows know if the coil packs on my 2005 2.0 FSI are the same as the vrs ones.

And has any of you changed yours to the Audi R8 ones, and noticed any difference.

Pretty sure they are the same. Why not have a look at something like the Bosch aftermarket site and cross reference to a vRS?  In a standard, normally aspirated car I would say it would be impossible to determine any difference unless one of the originals was faulty.

See although I’m not an advocate for snake oil, I do believe that upgrading the ignition system helps, I think it comes from when I used to mess with two-stroke bikes.

i know the TFSI coil packs are good, I upgraded my s4 and my s6 to TFSI coil packs both responded well, I took my s6 to scotland this year and managed 30mpg, 5 up full of luggage which is good, and much better than any mpg figure I’d seen before, although that was short lived once in the highlands where my mpg figure was woeful 😂

I will agree with TC though that on a N/A engine your going to struggle to notice much of a difference, you may notice an increase in MPG if anything.

Sorry should have made it clear in the op. I'm getting a miss fire but not all the time, I've done the plugs which made it a little better. But the car is 2005 so probably due a new set at some point

Have you looked at it on VCDS to see if you’ve recorded any miss fire codes? If you have I’d try swapping the coil pack over and see if the fault moves before forking out cash.
