Kodiaq Columbus ice

Featured Replies

I use hand gestures to change music tracks on my Kodiaq’s Columbus system. One irritating feature is that to advance to the next track I have to swipe left, and to go back to the start of the existing track or go to the previous track I have to swipe right. This is the opposite of what I expect. Surely to advance I should swipe right and to go back swipe left, and not the other way round? Has anyone else experience of this?

When you're gesturing at the screen, what information is actually displayed that you are gesturing towards?

Does making the command using the steering wheel buttons result in the same logic i.e. left 'back' button rewinding to the beginning of the song, the right button skipping forwards to the next song?

Aggie48, yes mines the same! but the controls on steering wheel, forward/back change tracks as they should and so do the on-screen forward/back symbols.

Personally I don't bother with hand gesture as its easier via steering wheel for me.

Can't see anything to change hand gesture direction so I think that's how it should be(arse about face!)

Bit like the user manual 😁

Seriously, thanks for confirming this. The only way I can remember to do the hand gestures to change track as I choose, is to think of it as though I am reading a book( turn page to the left to go on to the next page or flick right to go back a page).

It’s the logical way.

Think smart phone. You swipe left to move to the page on the right and visa versa.

Think of the screen as a long loop of film. If you want to look at the next picture on the roll, you move the loop to the left.
