Intermittent crunching when put in to reverse

Featured Replies

Morning guys, I think I've mentioned this on another post but can't find it. Sorry for any duplication. 🙁

When I first got my Fabia in May this year, there was some intermittent crunching when putting it in to reverse. I'm 99% sure that some one on the forum said that this would settle down, which it did although it didn't go away completely.

It's now back with a vengeance, I would say now it's crunching 6 out 10 times. Any ideas? I always make sure the clutch is planted to the floor, I blamed my lazy left foot before! I'm going to contact the dealership, but was hoping for an idea of what the issue could be before hand.

Thanks in advance.

Are you pausing a few seconds between pushing in the clutch pedal and shifting the stick? The driven plate can take a while to spin down on these.

My thoughts also.

Hi guys, thanks for your replies. I would say I wait least 5-10 secs before trying again.
