Spotted this and thought of you lot, hope its useful to someone 😊

https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/black-friday-offer

AVAILABLE ON Å KODA's BETWEEN 1 AND 10 YEARS OLD

2 Services - Only £18.00 a month^ over 18 months (was £22.50)

or

£324 upfront (was £405)

You're covered for:

• 1x Interim service (oil and filter change plus inspection)

• 1x Major service (oil and filter change plus inspection with extended scope)

If required during your Major Service we’ll replace your air filter (Diesel engines only), fuel filter and spark plugs (Petrol engines only)

Save up to an estimated 30%* on servicing costs with a Å KODA Service Plan.

so the major service could be the same as the lower interim service if they think your filters are ok.  Hmmmm  So maybe just another oil and oil filter change ... unless i'm reading this wrong.

I think that's pretty much how it works, they'll only replace it if they think it needs doing.  A bit of a rip off if you want to go dealer for servicing. My cars in warranty, had first two services free so signed up for this for the next 2 (30k and 40k miles) which will take me up to 3 years, then get it done for a fraction at any one of the many local guys near me.

It's my first expenditure on my car after 18 months, so this covers the next 18 months (though I'll need a new pair of front tyres too)

Speaking of tyres and BlackFriday, I feel as if I've just hit the lottery jackpot.

Although I have plenty of tread left  -  ( prob 5mm front, 7mm rear the car has only covered 11k in 2.5yr ), I was toying with the idea of All Season tyres. No deals at Costco when I checked the other day but Blackcircles were offering £40 off their already reasonable price on the latest Goodyear Vector 4season G2's which brought price down to £334 fitted.  Checked with ATSEuromaster today ( the agency Blackcircles use to fit the tyre ) and he quoted me a whopping £139 per tyre. So come home to place order on Blackcircles only to find the £40 off had been replaced by Blackfriday offer of 15% off - now it's down to £318 fitted. Bargain!

Thought I'd check with Costco again before going ahead as they had a great offer on CrossClimates earlier this year. No CrossClimates but they were now advertising the exact same Goodyear tyre at approx same price as Blackcircle but with up to £90 off if you buy four? Surely not. Well I've just checked out and the final price for a set of Goodyear Vector 4season G2's (fitted) was... drumroll...  £231.20

Even for a tight Scotsman, that seems mad.  ( And whilst the tyres are being fitted, I'll head next door to Ikea for my free coffee  )
