I have recently bought a 2014 Citigo GreenTech and am loving this car. In the manual I am trying to understand how to get the front passenger seat to fold horizontally (so far, I can get it to move forward approx 30 degrees - far from horizontal) from this description:

The front passenger seat can be folded forward into a horizontal position. Remove the seat rest in the direction of the arrow. The locking mechanism must audibly snap into place.

 

I certainly am scared to "remove the seat rest" or make an "audible snap" as described, has anybody been able to get this to happen? Is there a visual walkthrough or video online somewhere? Is this image I found online actually what the vague manual instruction describes as achievable?

I just had a go at this. I agree that moving the seat back further than it feels it wants to go would need a great leap of faith in what is in the handbook. I haven't got that much faith.

I think it was optional extra. Not all Citigos have that function.

Thanks guys. So how do we tell? The manual makes no mention nor gives any clues, I purchased this as second user so don't know. All I know is that I am scared to make an audible snap as documented in the manual, without knowing if that applies to my car. Manual doesn't even give seat serial number or any such clue to confirm. I guess I need to get it looked at by somebody familiar with Citigo models.

Here's a thought - does the seat have the same instruction/information-label at the bottom of the backrest? I can't see what it says in the photo. The label might let you know if the seat has this feature. 🧐

I was just scouring the net for more details and in finding more pics I had also come to notice that label too. Thinking to play it safe until I get it seen by somebody familiar with Citigo models, until then using the label as a guide (who knows, maybe the label was removed by previous owner and turns out to be foldable, will just play it safe).

Accordingly to Škoda dealer in Poland that was an optional extra for... Surprisingly for 5-door model (wtf). Where at Škoda Ruislip, they were surprised that such variant/option even exists.

 

But I have to agree, on a 3-door model would be so much easier to have it...

My car is 2019  spec.Handbook says possible - "depending on equipment fitted" -in other words not all variants,but doesn't say which.Mines a three door.

Not worth knackering the ratchet mechanism trying,not on a new car.......folded rear seat is enough for me.

Looks like you need a label on the rear of the seat back ,to show its possible.

I'm pretty sure it was an option that was never available in the UK. I've just had a look in the 2014 brochure (from when we ordered our car) and there's no mention of it, either as standard equipment or as an optional extra.

 

It was an option I spec'd on the Yeti I had on contract hire around the same time. It's a very useful option and would be really good to have in the Citigo.

Being that this car is from 2014, it is amazing that such little information on this is available even after all this time. Mine is 5 door with all extras, but seeing that label makes me think the manual could indeed pertain to an extra feature that may not have come wiht my car, but indeed, not going to chance knackering it without having some indicator. I agree all small cars at least should have the option, seemingly as far back as 2014 the Citigo range has had the option, but then I didn't know there was an option. If I find out it is foldable, I will come back and walk through how to check and how to carry it out (damn brochure is of little help so there needs to be an online guide that better helps).

I haven't been able to find any more information thus far, but pretty confident it would've been an optional extra and not retrofittable in the UK (as it would be in place of the drivers seat in the UK)

Thanks for that David. Being I purchased the car in fantastic condition, I don't think the original owner would have removed that notice on the back of the seat. What has been very useful investigating this though, is knowing that there are cars with these features to look out for in purchasing future cars.
