Washer bottle leaking

Featured Replies

Hello team,I have searched the archives and haven’t found an exact match for my problem,so,recently I seem to be using a lot of washer fluid,  after a couple of fill ups in one week I have looked a little deeper. There is a small puddle of washer fluid in front of the NSF wheel every morning.Front and rear washers appear to be working normally, the bottle has not been frozen as I use additive all year round, so I am assuming that an o-ring seal or something similar is leaking from the bottle area.Anyone had this before ? Plus can the bottle be removed from behind the inner wing shield without removing the bumper. Thanks in anticipation.

Yes the reservoir can be replaced without removing the bumper, just remove the T25 Torx screws from the arch liner. There is a rubber ring in the tank that the pump pushes into. And sometimes the feed pipe can pop off the pump barb even with the correct additive.

Thanks for that TMB,I will have a look at the weekend if the weather picks up as it is supposed to.It sounds like it may be the o-ring as front and rear washers appear to be working the same as they have ever been. Thanks again.

The washer pump <> washer fluid tank part number is 443 955 465, if that helps - maybe find one on ebay without needing to resort to getting your local Skoda dealer to order one in.

Edit:- seems like there are a few sellers of that on ebay for not much money, might save having two attempts at fixing this?

I did a search for Skoda breakers and a couple came back with complete bottles for sale at around £20 ish each so thats a backup plan if I can’t fix it myself. Thanks for the info R4M.

On ours there's a tyrap around one of the two hose feeds just where it comes out of the pump, not sure whether it's going to the front or rear washer.  Looks like a quick and dirty fix for a leak, that has stood the test of time over the last 7 years!

Looking for the photo, but it's taking time...see below.

OK,an update,it was leaking from the slot on the pump that is marked with the red arrow.Rang the local Sutton Autospares and they quoted me £13 inc vat. 3 in stock at my local branch about 3mls away.Fitted and works great, you even get a new seal for the washer reservoir.Result, and I bet its cheaper than OEM.
