Plastic sill covers

Featured Replies

How easy is it, or not, to take off the sill covers?

I'm hoping removing the lower row of torx screws means the sill can be lifted upwards and then clear of the body, but reluctant to try in this current weather in case it goes wrong.

Any advice?

Ermm, I'm confused. I had an email with a post?, which I can't see now.

Was the information relevant, or had you confused yourself?

Thanks, I could read that and understand, but in the missing thread which I got via email and is not visible via this website, it sounded very much like the OP had actually some useful information - rightly or wrongly. I didn't expect you to tell me what I already could read, I was hoping someone might have taken the sills off and could help me out.

Perhaps it might be wiser to wait for better weather and have an explore myself.

Thanks anyway

Hello, I had replied to the wrong thread, so I deleted the info so as not to confuse anyone else reading it.

It was as Urrell stated, I had simply replied to the wrong thread.

Yeap that will work, replaced a cover on mine years ago after an encounter with a very high curb/step in Ludlow! Took less than an hour to remove, clean behind and remount a new cover, if you are reusing a little care to find any extra screws would be good - my memory dims with age and time but it was several years ago!!  ;-()

Thanks for your reply, I just wanted to know if it was possible to do without destruction of various plastic bits. It looks like it's a job for when it turns warmer.

I'd like to take one sill off, as I crunched the n/s one a couple of years ago on a motorsport event - although it looks harmless, I'd like to replace the plastic moulding and check the metalwork underneath. If necessary, I'll have the other one off to check/clean/corrosion proof etc.

Again, many thanks.
