After market accessories

Featured Replies

What are the best/most effective/most fun after market accessories that you have on your Superb?

My most effective is the rear sill protector on the estate; it was that or declaw the dog! Only just picked up the car so nothing else....yet.

All from China, £7 the lot.

Bottom one is a door puddle light, shone it on wall for pic.

Nice.  Where did u get the flat-bottom steering wheel from?

I'm considering replacing my normal wheel.

My local Skoda dealership, asked at parts department- they sell it as accessory, it was £130 year ago if i remember correctly

Here's my stock Sportline steering wheel, comes in leather trim though not alcantara so I guess @MarioVrs had it wrapped or similar?

Judging on how my previous car's stock alcantara steering wheel started to wear out around the grips after just 2 years I prefer the leather one. MUCH less of a worry compared to the alcantara one (take care not to sweat too much and to have my hands in the absolute driest condition all the time was becoming tiring)

No mate, bought mine from local skoda dealership. It's a genuine skoda steering wheel. Had it on for a year now and no sign of wear, when it will I'll just swap it back to leather one, but i do like the alcantara feel i have to say...

Ok I see. But your car already came with a (leather) flat bottom steering wheel from factory no?  Which is what I meant in my reply to @JR RS 's question of where did you get it. I thought his question regarded the flat bottom not the material but maybe he meant where did you get an alcantara flat bottom, in which case my bad!

I can testify it definitely feels nice. But since I don't fancy driving with gloves it was one extra thing to worry about. It also depends on how much you tend to sweat, how "oily" yours hands get etc. After one year there were very slight signs of wear, after the second it was a bit worse so I guess it'd come to a point where I wouldn't feel very good about its condition. That was the one:

Correct... It has come with leather flat bottom from factory indeed. I jyst fancied a change tbh...if it was like 400+ then i wouldn't bother but £130 isn't that bad even if it goes to bin in 2 years.

Sorry i thought by saying it was from standard sportline i understand you meant i had it wrapped.... Got warned by many people saying same thing but you know what is like once you got your mind set on something lol...i just use light detergent specific for alcantara and detailing brush, it brings it up quite well so so far so good 😎

thanks for the info @MarioVrs and @newbie69.

my bad - guess i should've made it clear.  i have a non-sportline 220, hence it has the boring "round" steering wheel.

i'd like to get a flat-bottom version.

i see there is the normal leather flat-bottom version and the alcantara flat-bottom version.

my preference would be to get the leather flat-bottom version, however if the price is right, i wouldn't mind the alcantara version.

@MarioVrs - u wouldn't happen to be selling ur old leather flat-bottom steering wheel r u? :)

Flat bottom is a must :) sorry buddy but will keep it

To make up for my part of derailing this thread I'll say that the single most appreciated aftermarket accessory in mine, is the pedal box.
