Window Convenience - if only I'd known

Featured Replies

Went out this morning to my Kodiaq to find my windows open in the pouring rain with the inside drenched!  I checked on the forum and found a thread on this wonderful facility I didn't know I had.  I can only presume that I've accidently triggered it unless the windows have just decided on their own to open.  I seem to remember reading about people coming out to find their electric boot door had opened on it's own.  As the car automatically locks if you forget to do it you would think the technology would be there to detect open windows and close them after a certain time.  I see on P71 of the Manual I can switch the facility off, I wish the default had been the off position with the option to turn it on.  I hope the drenching hasn't affected the electric front seats.

A common complaint, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Skoda used to utilise the rain sensor on the windscreen that activates the automatic wipers, so if the windows are inadvertently left open and the sensor detects rain it'll automatically raise the windows and/or close the sunroof, solely to prevent the situation you've found yourself in.

This secondary feature was removed / disabled on recent models for some reason.

The only option is to disable the feature via the infotainment system, or remember never to keep the keys in your trouser pockets.

Disabling it would be a shame, as in the summer it is quite a useful feature when wanting to cool the interior down when approaching the car, or raising the windows at the end of the day where they've been left open on purpose.

I am not risking that again so I've disabled it.  The only bonus was that when looking in the Vehicle 'opening and closing setting' I found I could open all the doors with one press on the fob. It's irritated me for months that I could only open the driver's door and had to keep pressing to get the other doors open.  I did read the manual when I bought the car but some things just passed me by.
