airbag light showing - vag com not communicating

Featured Replies

Bit of a long-running saga, in that I have PRNDS (and traction lights) showing, which was traced to a ECU fault. The ECU has been fixed, and it came back, car starts and runs fine, BUT airbag warning light now showing. ECU has been sent back to check and come back with a clean bill of health.  The garage has had it on a vag com reader and its telling them that the reader can't communicate with airbag system.  All the obvous like under seat wiring has been checked - so wondered if I could call on the knowledgeable Briskoda community to se what we could/should check and do next?

Its an 08 1.9 auto, but with only 20k miles. A factor is that it has stood for 4 years, but the airbag never showed previosly while I was fettleing the car to get it back on the road.

Any help or suggestions would be very gratfuly recived

Firstly I'd be checking the canbus gateway is correctly coded for the airbag ecu etc as maybe having the ecu unplugged has upset it
