front wheels 1.2 htp

hi my little fabby has a hard life on the (crap)  UK roads, and I have occasionally been known to bash the front wheels at speed on trash on the roads, hit occasional unmarked kerb etc (I know, I know) . now the steering shakes and vibrates a lot, I thought I had thought wheel balance weights had been lost, but it now seems that the steering arms are bent and need replacement. does that mean the tie rods or the other larger metal pressings. I need my little pal to be at his best.

I'd be surprised if your track rods really are bent, more likely you've torn the console bush.

To check your front wheels for out of balance, you could swap your front wheels with your rear wheels. If your steering then becomes smooth and vibration free with vibration now coming from the rear wheels, you will know that your front wheels (now on the back) need attention. Just balancing or new rims if you've bent the rims.
