BAZ15D – LED Does it exists??????

Featured Replies

Iam looking for 4 x BAZ15D LED in red in my car these bulbs (2 in each cluster) are the side lights , break lights and fog light.

I have tried many LED bulbs of this size but keep getting the bulb out error on the dash. I was wondering if anyone else found a solution?

What year is your car? If it's a facelift, you can probably code the warnings out...

All of the dual function red LED's I have seen offer really poor differentiation between tail and brake light functions.

They simply don't work in traditional light clusters that are designed to work with regular incandescent bulbs.

Examples of how poor they can be...

I know what you mean and this is something I have kept an eye on. I have to say out of the 4 different types I have tried the difference between tail and brake is very good.

Just wish I could solve the bulb out error!

If you get the chance to take some video of them fitted would be really helpful.

Can you share the links for the bulbs you've already tried?

Did any of them claim to be 'CANBUS friendly'?

In my experience those from trusted or reputable brands work the best.

The YouTube video I posted listed a Philip's branded bulb as being the best he'd tried / reviewed.

Most of the units that claim to be CANBUS friendly now come with a clause of - Will only work with 95% of cars and may need a load resister!!!!

What would be really good is a load resister for the whole cluster!!!!

This is what Iam currently rocking for the break / tail / fog light - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32839781967.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.2d314c4dwviFQG

What would be better is fitting the genuine OEM LED light cluster used in the Chinese market and changing / coding the BCM to suit.

More expensive yes, but miles better looking, and safer too...

There are literally hundreds of listings on Alibaba / Ali Express...

You can even get non-genuine / aftermarket clusters now with the built-in load resistors you mentioned, plug and play...

Take a read through of this thread...

They are identical OEM replacements, so the complete opposite to the Halfords boy racer look.

I'd suggest that low quality LED bulbs fitted in standard light clusters that aren't designed to refract the directional light output from LED's and that therefore offer very poor differentiation between the brake and tail light features will look a whole lot worse...

@silver1011 When you have the LED in that style it looks very cheap to me.

I think I need to make a video of one of my rear clusters and fronts. I get what you say about the difference between brake and tail light but I don't have that problem.

I like the OEM LED rear lights which is why I fitted some ;)

They are certainly an improvement on the original halogen units and look completely standard. To be honest, they do look better in person than in pictures though...

Anyway, I've no idea if Carista can sort the warning lights, VCDS can't. Ideally you need someone with either VCP or ODIS-e and the right knowledge :)
