Just did a short trip to the garden centre in our Fabia Estate. No issues at all during the trip, but when I stopped I couldn't lock the doors with the key fob, and the key now won't fit back into the ignition. Tried both keys without luck. Any ideas?

Should probably add that the steering wheel turns freely and the other electrics seem to work (can lock the doors with the 'lock' button, but not with either key fob).

For the benefit of anyone who encounters something similar - turned out to be a physical problem with the lock. The sliding bit that protects it had broken off and was half blocking the key hole. Pushing this out of the way with a screw driver got the fobs working again, and allowed the key back into the ignition.

Well done that person.

This sounds like a very strange story, so correct me if I'm wrong:- you stopped the car and took the engine out of the ignition > tried to lock the door with the key fobs and neither worked so > used a single key to  lock the car up via the driver's door lock, but it jammed seized and so slightly damaged the key and now > that key can not operate the ignition switch.  Then you discovered that the driver's door lock had its dirt shutter dislodged and that was cleared out of the way and now > everything works okay including the 2 key fobs and the keys in the ignition!?
