Rear washer issue

Featured Replies

Hi all I’m new to Skoda I have a 2003 diesel estate and the rear washer isn’t working when operated the water cames straight out the bottom of the reservoir I’ve had a look but can’t see a hose that should be connected

Thanks for that by the look of it it’s missing a rubber grommet at the bottom of the reservoir but I’m not convinced it’s as easy as that cause it only leaks when the rear wiper gets used not when the front get used I would of thought if the grommet was missing it would leak when front are used to

Have you checked if the flow is clear from the pump through to the rear jet?  If there's a blockage that might explain why you're getting a leak at the pump end.

Haven’t checked that yet Will get it done

Going by the diagram it looks like the washer level switch is missing from the bottom of the reservoir

The washer pump does both front and rear screens off the one pump. If you don’t have headlight washers it’s a lot easier to get at as the pump is at the back of the reservoir. There’s two flexible hose adapters for the plastic hoses which are attached to the pump. It’s a bit tricky to see, I recently replaced mine and I found it easier to unbolt the fuel filter bracket and move it out of the way to get easier access to the washer pump.

Heres a link for a rear wiper arm. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-OCTAVIA-MK1-1U-ESTATE-REAR-WIPER-ARM-1U9955707B-1U9-955-707-B/233280223780?epid=1730249005&hash=item365095ba24:g:YyMAAOSw1DtXFRCa
