Headlamp Washer Nozzles/Jets

Featured Replies

I have not had my '05 Octy Mk2 DSG long (March 2019) and don't usually drive at night.

On Xmas Eve night was the first time I remember that I used the windscreen washers with the lights on,

I must have used the screen washers a number of times on this occasion because the Headlight Washers operated.

The spray action did not look the same as I remember it on my previous '05 Octy Mk2 (not DSG version - the reason I swapped it)

The next opportunity to do so I pulled them out to look at them. (Picture below)

Both of my headlamp washer units appear to have lost one of their two nozzles, .

At least it looks like they are missing as they don't look the same as replacement items I have seen on websites.

Which I suppose explains the unusual spray action.

Do I have to replace the whole washer unit to get the nozzles/jets?

There was a thread a few months back on this forum about headlamp washer replacements including part numbers and links to suppliers.

If you use the search options to restrict hits to this forum it will save you some time digging :)

Update: found it ...

Thank you StickyMicky,

The Thread you quote concerns Headlamp Washer Covers, as do most of the links.

My problem concerns the missing Headlamp Washer Nozzles/Jets.

This link concerns Left Headlamp Washer with Nozzle (China)

https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/1zd955965-left-headlamp-washer-with-nozzle-cn-35550.html

I don't want the whole washer, just the Nozzles.

The jets aren't available separately, you need to buy the complete retractable nozzle.

Take one of the available jets and fit it to the other side to make a complete nozzle, then just buy one new nozzle.

Luckily they aren't expensive.

I have one of my nozzles sending water straight upwards rather than onto the headlight. On closer inspection it looks like the nozzle is split which is what is causing this. What sort of job is it to replace the retractable mechanism?
