Rear wipers

Featured Replies

The jets have been blocked and want to remove wiper from rear screen. On my 55 plate Octy had no problem but now it just will not budge on one I got now. I lift up cover cap and pull upwards and it will not budge . Would appreciate how you do it . Thanks.

Do you mean the wiper blade, or the entire assembly?

If it is only the washer jet that is blocked (common problem) you don't need to remove the wiper arm, just the jet itself...

Pull harder!

If you're removing the wiper arm you first need to remove the securing nut...

Are you sure your pipe is still connected inside the tailgate?

I hope not , there is no water on floor. Just had another look, I have two jets coming out from the cover . Have pulled very hard and it still will not come off.

What is still not coming off, the jet or the bolt?

What part in the illustrations above are you pulling?

unhinge the cover to expose the jet/jets

Eat some Weetabix and pull harder.

I found my jets blocked the other day so removed them and cleaned them up, put back on, all seemed to be working. Fast forward 2 days and now my wiper was creeping over the screen when turned off. Seems water managed to get into the wiper motor AFTER I had fixed the jets  removed the motor and it was completely full of water. Bit the bullet and ordered a dewiper kit seeing as though my screen is already tinted so dark it's impossible to see out of anyway 🤣

A "dewiper kit", surely it's just a rubber grommet!? 😂

It's a KillAllWipers glass bung. Designed to fit the correct size of the screen and glues in with waterproof epoxy. I've done the rubber bung route before on a few cars, although I've found they are never quite the right size and typically either leak or get knocked off when washing the car 😂

Well, except for being a blanking plug, not a grommet (or a Wallace).

Best way I've found is to grip the cover with right hand, squeezing top and bottom, then with left hand prise up from underneath and flip it to the right if that makes sense.
