This happened once before, a few months ago.

 

unlocked car 

a regular very loud thumping noise started coming from the front door speakers.

Frequency  was about one per second.

Got in

Started car. Thumping continued

Display screen was blank.

Drove to end of road and back

Turned off ignition

Restarted car

Thumping didn't start.

Display screen came back but flashed at 1 sec intervals

switched screen of and drove to the shops

whilst driving switched screen back on and it was normal.

After shopping car started normally with no thumping.

 

Any ideas what this could be?

A break in the wiring passing through the rubber sleeve near the door hinge??

Or is it just something you put up with?

It wasn't my issue, I simply shared a thread describing someone else's similar symptoms.

 

@iceman2 might be able to help, assuming he got to the bottom of the problem...
