First off all - big hello to everyone. Been lurking for a while enjoying the banter.

Finally joined the Skoda community in Jan with my VRs from Westover in Corfe Mullen after owning a V6 F**d Mondeo for 5 years.

4700 miles happy motoring I have hit my first snag, a snapped front nearside wiper mount (see pics).

Wipers on, big bang, wifey jumps in my lap thinking something is coming through windscreen, me wondering for a second "while you are down there.."

Stopped and had a look and the casting had snapped straight through, offside wiper had collected broken one and managed to gouge the bonnet on its way back down :eek:

Anyhoo, quick trip to Westover, new wipers on, bonnet respray being sorted - top job.

Not the first time this has happened as the aftersales manager showed me another arm that had snapped in exactly the same way. Skoda are investigating.

Oh well, just got to persuade them that I will need the new Octavia VRs as a courtesey car while mine is being done

Thats a bit nasty, seems like they may have an iffy batch of wiper arms.
